You can place a beautiful flower pot or vase in the center of the dining table to welcome guests or craft one just for a mere decoration at home. For instance, the large mosaic garden pots California gave the garden decoration that it truly deserves.

Learn decorating them to suit any style with this surprisingly easy activity. Once you already learn how, you will definitely be searching for unused ones to try out this new hobby. For sure, it will make for a fun garden art activity.

Others might think that working on this kind of art is difficult and time consuming. However, they are actually wrong. You do not have to buy expensive materials for it. All you need are recyclables and a tile is a very good and common example for this.

Select the best pot to use. Clay pot is a common type to decorate with. Wash its interior and exterior using soap and water. Scrub it thoroughly to give it a deep clean. Let it dry to avoid remaining moisture since this has an effect in the adhesion of decorating materials like tiles.

Selection of tiles is the next step. This process is very important since they will give your masterpiece a texture and look. Be sure that it is firm but can be dismantled into small pieces because not all these work well on this artwork. If you are unsure about it, ask an expert. Consider also the accent pieces or the design. Browse for designs, patterns and colors that add an interesting look, instead of settling for one or two plain and colored ones.

Create a mosaic by breaking the tiles into pieces. All you need are the working gloves, small hammer, nipper, thick or heavy cloth or towel, protective eye wear, and a clean and flat surface to get this done. Do not smash. Instead, gently tap the tile which covered with heavy cloth until it is broken into pieces to integrate the process. Use nipper to complete the breaking process for those that are not completely broken.

Use mortar powder mixed constantly with water for adhesion of the broken pieces. To obtain the desired result, be sure that the powder has been fortified with polymer and that its layer is thin. This formula must be used immediately to avoid changes in few minutes.

Finally, you can now create a mosaic design. Spread the mixture of mortar at the back of the tile piece and affix it right away to the flower pot. Repeat it to other pieces. Once they are completely set, be sure the grout is made. You can mix it with acrylics if you want it vibrant and colorful instead of gray. Let it dry for two hours before the finished product can be used.
