Mechanisms Through Which Thoughts Influence Nerves

By Sandra Reynolds

The brain controls the body functioning by sending and receiving the electrical signals from various parts of a body. The type of signal will determine the type of change required. Well, it is not always the physical stimuli that effect this changes but even the psychological imagination are capable of causing stimulating the nerve impulse. It is critical to know how thoughts influence nerves for easy interpretation of body changes.

Some of the nerves that are influenced by hormones include the sensory nerves. Perhaps this is why the eye pupil increase when one look at a strange image. This dilation will increase the sight and enable one to make a better judgment in the process. Actually, the eye is made up of blood capillaries which dilate as a result of hormonal change.

Thinking can influence the muscle nerves which leads to increase in activity. The muscles are usually made up of fibers which have a lot of capillaries which means when the blood supply is increased the muscles will expand. The expansion depends on the type of signal integrated by the brain. Too much blood supply to some organs may lead to pain due to the elasticity effect of capillaries.

The cardiovascular framework which is in charge of the pumping of blood to all body parts is bolstered with various nerves. The impacts of adrenergic hormones are so articulated in this organ. The cardiovascular nerves will guide the diastolic and systolic volumes of blood. The results may lead to increased pumping in order to meet the demands. The level of responsiveness of this organ depends on the type of hormone involved.

The amount of thoughts translates to the number of hormones released into the system. Once a lot of stress creep one will feel the breathing rate increase. Perhaps to ensure there is enough amount of oxygen available for the increased amount of blood supply to different organs. The lungs will expand and contract rapidly which may strain the intercostal muscles.

In most cases, the effects of a psychological response are witnessed courtesy of a skin. The skin is one of the largest organs that is known for its protection and cooling mechanism. For instance, during excitements, a lot of neurological changes that affect major organs results in rising in temperature. The skin will have to engage the adrenal glands to release sweats which will cool the body.

The cerebrum is innervated by little and sensitive veins. Some of the thought that results in high blood pressure are a treat to this veins. Repeated episodes of this pressure may eventually lead to breakdown of the vessels. Once this happens the brain cells will not get the oxygen and they may die. This is very risky and can result in other complications such as stroke.

It is critical to note that the psychology of a person affects his or her eating habits both negatively and positively depending on what one thinks about. If it is stress it will have a negative impact on digestion. In fact, it used to be associated with stomach ulcers because it is believed to cause trickling of lots of stomach acids. However, thinking of eating increase the cravings which may lift the eating psyche.
